Hello, I'm Barbara A. Scherek Jr., thank you for visiting. I would like to share with you a little bit about myself. I received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Design From the University of Minnesota with a minor in the Chinese (Mandarin) Language.
I am a nature and travel lover, artist, author, music composer, Ordained Minister and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner.
My background includes exploration of pristine wilderness areas from snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and canoeing in the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) in northern Minnesota, to equestrian sports and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains with world renown explorer Ann Bancroft (Anna Banana as we called her then) as well as shooting rapids on the Hanbury-Thelon river system in Canada's tundra, the Northwest Territories.
My intercultural interests have expanded through world travels that have taken me to Spain, Mexico, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, China, India and Thailand.
My images and music are created with the intention of healing and are done in the sprit of joyful play. Creating art brings balance to my life. I hope it will also enhance the capacity for creative self expression in others.
